1 week if I want to lose weight

Short answer - Yes, as long as you stay on a weekly calorie deficit.

Long answer - it depends on what you’re eating with these takeaways.

If you’re on a diet and maintaining a a daily calorie deficit - meaning you burn more calories than you consume - you will naturally start to lose weight.

If however - these one or two takeaway meals are so high on calories that they virtually eliminate the deficit you’ve created during the week, then you will be spinning your wheels, and will not make progress.

The best way to do this is to track what you eat every day and ensure you’re staying on deficit.

IF possible, track your takeaways too, but this is notoriously difficult to do because restaurants can show a lot of variation in the way they cook their food - an extra splash of olive oil or a dash of butter can completely change the total calorie content of a meal. Even more so with junk food.

The best way to tackle this, therefore, is to make sure that your weekly deficit is big enough to account for these possible variations in takeout food - and so even with the variation in actual calorie content from these takeout meals, you’re still staying in a deficit.

The truth will be revealed with how your measurements change - if you do this and continue to see weight loss and inches reduced - then it’s working. If not - you need to recalibrate your weekly calorie goals.
